    Mercedes-AMG G 63

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 has undergone the greatest change in its history – while remaining true to its well-proven virtues. The G 63 underpins its unique position among performance off-road vehicles with the powerful drive system.

    Exterior:

Unmistakable design features give the new Mercedes-AMG G 63 its unique boxy silhouette appearance:

    ● The bodyshell consists of various grades of steel, resulting in 55% more durability and is stronger than the original structure. This new material mix considerably reduces vibrations and noise in the interior

    ● Aluminum remains the main material for the wings, bonnets and doors

    ● Electric sliding sunroof

    ● 21” AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels

    ● Round MULTIBEAM LED headlamps equipped with the most innovative illumination system for the safest and the most efficient night vision

    ● Mounted direction indicators

    ● Muscular protective strips with inserts in high-gloss black with a silver AMG emblem

    ● The exposed spare wheel on the rear door with a stainless steel cover and three-dimensional Mercedes star

    ● The front section of the G 63 is characterised by the AMG-specific radiator grille and the AMG bumper with large side air inlets and trim in matt iridium silver.

    ● The roof is no longer spot-welded, but instead connected to the body structure by laser welding‑ resulting in better surface quality and higher body strength

    ● For the first time, all the fixed windows are adhesive bonded to the body. This not only increases the torsional rigidity of the body, but also makes the window frames more resistant to corrosion

    Interior:

The new G 63 has been given a completely new modernised interior design and dimensional concept to benefit all the occupants:

    ● The increase in length (+101 millimetres), width (+121 millimetres) and height (+40 millimetres) provides the basis for a significantly more airy and spacious impression than in the previous model

    ● The AMG-specific IWC-design dashboard has analogue tubes as dial instruments as standard and the two 12.3” Widescreen Cockpit blended into a single unit beneath a shared glass cover. The driver is able to choose from three different views – ‘Classic’, ‘Sporty’ and ‘Progressive’ - and access the required information with the COMAND Online system

    ● The AMG Performance steering wheel is covered in finest nappa leather and DINAMICA microfibre topstitching. It has a flattened lower section and is perforated in the grip area

    ● The shape of the round headlamps is reflected in the side air vents, and that of the indicators in the tweeters on the dashboard

    ● Hallmarks of the G 63 also include the grab handle in front of the front passenger

    ● The chrome-highlighted switches for the three differential locks

    ● The seats are preinstalled with nappa leather upholstery with lateral support. The seats in the G-Class are equipped as standard with numerous convenience functions including the memory function for the driver’s seat, the seat heating front and rear, as well as luxury head restraints in the front

    ● The rear seats can be folded down in three stages, to a ratio of 40, 60 or 100 percent

    ● The cabin is also equipped with Burmester® surround sound system

    ● An ambient light system with 64-selectable colors

    Technology and safety innovations

    The Mercedes-AMG G 63 comes with:

    ● The rear-biased all-wheel drive (40:60)

    ● The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive adjustable damping is standard equipment. This fully automatic, electronically controlled system adjusts the damping at each wheel to the current requirements where the driver can choose between three different sets of damping characteristics, namely ‘Comfort’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Sport+’

    ● Active Lane Keeping Assist which helps reduce risks of accidents from a sudden lane changing

    ● Active Braking Assist that helps avoid collisions with other cars or pedestrians in the intersection

    Perfomance

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 combined fuel consumption rate of 13.1 litres per 100 kilometres and a CO2 emission rate of 299 grams per kilometre. It uses the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission with a model-specific software application to achieve very short shift times, delivering more spontaneous bursts of speed. Especially in the "Sport+" and in manual driving modes.
